Sandy from Ferndale, MI had this to say:
"First the good things... The grounds, the pools and the interior (for the most part) and exterior design are absolutely beautiful.
The spa was incredible. The woman at th front desk was very patient and helped us choose the best treatment for our individual needs. And Lina, who gives Shiatsu massage, is the best! Be sure to ask for your massage to take place in one of the bamboo huts on the lagoon. Amazing! The best part of the trip by far.
Now the negatives... The staff was not very helpful at all. They didn't give us much information about activities, dining, etc. The photocopied map of the grounds was not professional looking and was only marginally helpful. The signage on the grounds could use some help. We also didn't realize we needed to make reservations for dinner before we arrived. We only got to eat in one of the nice restaurants for one meal. The rest of the time we ate in the buffets or the sports bar and the food wasn't very good. There should be a snack bar somewhere so we didn't have to keep eating cheeseburgers in the sports bar. Also, the interiors of the restaurants we pretty blah. The nightly entertainment was sometimes ok but mostly hilarious. I don't think it was supposed to be funny though. Also, the maids need to be better at stocking our rooms with tissue, tp and bottled water as we used up our allotment really quickly.
I think this resort has great potential, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone until they get their acts together."

Pat from Brooklyn, New York had this to say:
"Sprawling can best describe this resort. Lots of walking, which helps work off the food eaten. The concierge was very helpful as was most of the staff. Perhaps speaking a little Spanish helps. We spent most of our time at the pool which was very clean. We liked taking swims/walks from one end of the pool to the other. The food is what you'd expect from an all-inclusive. There was a wide variety of fruits, salads, meats, breads, pastas, and desserts. Loved the flan! Too much smoking in the snack bar. Our room only had a shower, no bathtub. We took the free one-way bus to Playa del Carmen, your usual tourist trappings. Only "complaint: We only wanted water and diet soda in our fridge: it two days for them to get that done."

Meagan from Baltimore, Maryland had this to say:
"The resort was nice, clean pools, spacious rooms and that is about it. The staff is not all that friendly at the front desk, we had to wait almost 3 hours after check in time to get into our room. We arrived at 10am and didnt get into our room until after 5pm. The food at the buffet is warm to cold, nothing is hot. The restaurants are not worth the time for the most part. The Le Fleur and The Hacienda were very good. The pool and beach bars close at 5pm. After 10pm there is only beer available. If you want to play any water sports; volleyball, water polo or such you have to do it when the entertainment staff tells you that you can. There is not food available to you at all times unless you go to the sports bar, and many people got sick after eating there. if you want a relaxing vacation where all you do is lie by the pool or on the beach and are not much on service or plan to spend most of your days in town then i would recommend this place to you."

"The resort was absolutely beautiful. The staff was not that friendly or accomodating. They need some work in that area."

Charles from Plano, Texas had this to say:
"This is just a beautiful hotel with great amenities. The rooms are outstanding and spacious; the pool areas are gorgeous and the beach is also very pretty. The service is a tad bit slow but they will go out of their way to help you. The food was mostly very good to excellent. Since this is a new hotel, I'm sure they will work out their service kinks and then watch out. I will certainly return and recommend to others."

Kaylyn from Stacy, MN had this to say:
"We stayed in a villa suite and have NO complaints. We got everything we wanted and more! You need to speak with your own concierges in order to get what you want or need. They will go out of their way to please you. The food in the ala cart restaurants is spectacular!! The buffets are average but I did try many new types of food I have never heard of before. This place is beautiful, a paradise. Once all the plant life has matured I guess you will get a peek at what heaven must look like. The main pool and the beach are packed but that is expected with a total of 1400 rooms between the two hotels. But we had no problem with that because with the villa suites you have a private pool with a bar and butler service, if they hear the ice rattle in you're glass they are right there to get you another.also there is a bathroom poolside and cabanas with nice mattresses with sheets on them surrounding the pool. On the beach there is a roped off area for the platinum guests with nice wooden loungers with cushions. I guess all in all you get what you pay for and you're vacation is what you make of it so spend the little extra it is WAY worth it!!"

Aimee from Woodland, WA had this to say:
"The hotel doesn't give you information on anything about the place, we got a map of which we could hardly read and that was it. Make sure when you first get there to go reserve times for a sit down dinner, they were all booked up when we arrived. Only when we complained did they find times at 9:30 at night. We found out that a lot of other people felt the same way. The buffets are good food but not the greatest service. If you want a spot at the pool go put books and towels down early in the morning (like 6:00 am) but be prepared people still move stuff. The beach was really pretty and there is a lot of chairs out there. The staff only stocks the in room fridge every other day and if you want bottle water you have to buy it in the gym and in the gift store. There is no ice cream parlor like it states up above. No one there had ever heard of it. All in all it wasn't the worst place but I don't plan on going back. The service isn't that great."
