Visit Mazatlan’s popular tourist beach Olas Altas. Attractions Details Olas Altas is situated at the beginning of the Malecon, or seawall, and was the first tourist beach in Mazatlan. The name Olas Altas means “big waves” and this beach is a very popular spot with surfers during the summer. Several outdoor restaurants and cafes can be found offering good food and cold drinks when you need a break from sunbathing and the never-ending beach volleyball games.
