Farley's Coffehouse began life as a spot to buy coffee and coffee machine parts, and has blossomed into the top-rated coffeehouse in San Francisco. Their slogan "Community in a cup" is not just talk, as they host several community events each week. Locals gather to read eclectic magazines, chat, and socialize while drinking one of a wide variety of coffee drinks. Farley's "bucks" the trend by serving their brews in real ceramic cups, and saving the paper for to-go orders.

"Tip these guys well, the owner pays minimum wage and doesn't give them any respect. They rely on your tips and will make you a great drink! But, the notion of a "community space" and of the community-figurehead owner at Farley's is false. Greed is number one. The hired staff is rad and creative- support them by tipping big but buy your pastries and food someplace else!"
