Enjoy a Smoke Free HawaiiOn November 16, 2006 Hawaii joined 13 other states in an effort to protect locals and visitors from the risks of secondhand smoke. Hawaii’s new Smoke-Free Law is designed to keep the air clean and clear in all of Hawaii’s enclosed and partially enclosed buildings such as restaurants, malls, hotels and bars. This smoke-free law also includes all airports from the curb to the cabin which will ensure a pleasant smoke-free arrival and departure for your tropical Hawaiian vacation. More than 85% of Hawaii voters voted in favor of this law and now enjoy dining with only the smells of mouth watering cuisines swirling around in the air and a nightlife filled with high energy music and ice-cold cocktails instead of smelly cigarette smoke and dirty ashes.

"I just returned from Hawaii on March 29, 2007, after thirteen wonderful days there. You can smoke at the airport as long as you cross over to the shuttle pick-up area. Smoking is allowed in most hotels, they have designated smoking floors and of course all bars and restaurants are smoke free. I am a smoker and I did not have a problem lighting up and I had a wonderful time."
