Harold Carlberg from Collinsville, Mississippi had this to say:
"We booked a long weekend getaway through BookIt.com to Fort Walton on June 11 through June 14, 2009 at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort. I thought I was booking a room on the beach. When we arrived, sure, the lobby was nice so I thought we were in for a treat. But that didn't last long. We had a tiny room overlooking the parking lot. A one cup coffee pot that made cold coffee. We had to pack up everything just to go down to the beach. It I had known that, I could have booked somewhere across the street for a lot less money. I will not stay at the Ramada again. Don't waste your time. There is too much competition out there to get a raw deal."

Donna from B. R. , LA had this to say:
"The hotel grounds are very nice. Pools are great. Cafe is very reasonable, but BBQ shack is a bit pricey -hamburger costs $7.00. When you book, try to get a beach or a pool view room. Just the standard room in the old section of the hotel is not so nice. The other areas are much better. If you book a pool room, ask about the rooms where you could swim off the patio. The beach is nice. Beach bar opens at 11:00 and closes at dark. You can rent 2 chairs and an umbrella for $20 a day. It’s worth the money. When you check in the hotel, they will ask for deposit on bracelets that you must wear at all times. I think it is a rip off, in a way. Other than that, I probably would stay again, just in a pool or a beach view room. We went to Destin everyday for dining. There is more selection, and it’s just over the bridge. "

A Recent Traveler from Minnetonka, MN had this to say:
"Very clean rooms and beautiful surroundings. Room service delivered an excellent shrimp dinner. Had two complaints - one: I was put in a room directly below a wedding reception and I was sure the stomping was going to come right down through the ceiling, and two: when I checked in I was not provided any help finding my room and getting my luggage there. Never having been there before - it was a struggle! It was a one night stay and did not have the opportunity to use all the facilities offered and being totally exhausted I didn't get the rest I had hoped for. But I would recommend it and stay there again but for a longer stay."

Debbie Hammond from Springfield, Illinois had this to say:
"We recently stayed at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort from April 4-12, 2009. We had a beach front king suite which included a king bed in one room, a queen size sofa sleeper in another room, and two balcony's. The suite also had two televisions, a mini fridge, microwave, breakfast bar, safe, and a iron. This resort was fabulous! We had a wonderful stay. By far, this hotel is the best value for your money. The staff were very friendly and helpful (Thanks Tara C and Andrea P.). Housekeeping did a great job as everything was always well kept. The staff was always busy caring for the property. This resort has the largest stretch of beach front property in the area. The property is located next to the Boardwalk which is an added benefit as there is so much to do there. My kids loved getting ice cream and taco's at the Boarwalk. Within walking distance is a fishing pier and the Gulfarium. This resort has three pools, hot tub, and a water park that my kids loved! The first pool is the Grotto pool that has a beautiful waterfall and swim-up bar. The second pool is heated and the third pool is a kidddie pool. The outdoor area is very nice with a tropical look. The hotel also has an on site restaurant which has a nice breakfast buffet and there is an outdoor barbecue hut that has great lunch items. We also loved Alvin's Island which is a store that carries all of your basic beach needs. The store was very reasonably priced. There is also a tiki bar that is beach front. Everything you need in a vacation is all right here. However, if you decide to leave, Destin is just a few minutes drive away. Parking was adequate. The resort also has activities for the kids. My kids enjoyed the planned Easter activity in which they made an Easter basket, decorated eggs, watched a movie, and had pizza. On Easter morning, the hotel put on a great Easter egg hunt. We loved our stay so much that we decided to stay an extra day. We definitely would recommend this property as we had outstanding service all around. This resort was more than we had expected. "
