Brian A Thomson from Dundee, Scotland had this to say:
"Booked into the Pink Palace after about a 32 hour day from Edinburgh to Honolulu (3 flights) and boy was it worth it! This hotel ticks all the boxes with ticks to spare, when we got up for breakfast we were given a table beside a small wall between us and Waikiki beach and when the waiter started Hawaaian singing, to say emotions were close is an understatement! What a palace and what a place. Hope to return before the 50th!"

David from Los Angeles, CA had this to say:
"I've stayed at the Royal Hawaiian many times and always enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and it's great to be in a hotel on the best part of Waikiki, but away from the loud noise of Kalakaua Avenue. The hotel was recently renovated -- it is nearly a hundred years old -- but I had no complaints about the rooms before renovation. If you've ever stayed at an old historic hotel, you know there are tradeoffs with modern amenities. All in all, I would take the Royal Hawaiian over a new hotel any day."

A Recent Traveler from Modesto, Calif. had this to say:
"Royal used to be the place to go. But in recent years it is gone downhill. I used to work at the Royal for a few years in the '70's at the front desk and just loved the service and rooms, it was amazing.' Went back twenty years later to visit and was very disappointed in how it was run down especially an much smaller with the mall out front. Went back again recently and was even more disappointed as I had thought it had been renovated and upgraded but really wasn't. It's now in my opinion a second class hotel that's treading on it's history. Staff are short and rude, service is non-existent and amenities are limited and expensive. Rooms are dark and old and overly expensive as well. Seems they sold out to their Asian clients during the eighties after it was sold and forgot about the North American tourists who made them what they were. Won't be going back anytime soon and advise anyone thinking of going to think twice as you will be disappointed. "
