Located directly on Canal Street, this centrally located French Quarter hotel is just steps to world famous Bourbon Street! BIG ROOMS & 12 ft Ceilings - Chateau Bourbon, A Wyndham Historic Hotel combines contemporary style with a distinctive historic New Orleans flavor; an eclectic mix of antique-style & bright decor. NOW a smoke FREE property!
Originally the D.H. Holmes Department Store, a local landmark treasure, which operated for 140 years (from 1849 until 1989), the transformation of the pre-Civil War landmark into a 20th century hotel included a complete interior renovation and exterior restoration to the building's 1913 facade. Chateau Bourbon, A Wyndham Historic Hotel retains the greatest amenity of a traditional setting: space. The large rooms and high ceilings create an expansive mood which lightens the spirit and adds a touch of luxury to the hotel experience. A fine collection of contemporary paintings and sculpture, along with a fresh style of decoration, give the Chateau Bourbon a hip and modern ambience, with a sense of quality few new buildings could match. Effective March 2008, the Chateau Bourbon, A Wyndham Historic Hotel is now a smoke free environment.
Each of the Chateau Bourbon's 251 guest rooms is individually designed and uniquely spacious. All rooms feature grand, 12-foot ceilings, and many rooms also have wrought iron balconies overlooking our tropical courtyards or world-famous Bourbon Street. Rooms have either one King or 2 Queen-sized beds. All rooms include an in-room safe, hairdryers, irons/ironing boards, cable television, in-room movies and web access, Nintendo and direct high-speed Internet access.
The hotel also offers a 24 hour Executive Business Center, a complete fitness center and gift shop. Enjoy our beautiful Tropical Courtyard, filled with tropical plants and the relaxing sounds of our fountain. This quiet oasis provides just the right atmosphere for recharging after a fun-filled day in the city. Discover our Pool Courtyard with heated outdoor pool and Pool Bar, and the Atrium Courtyard where you will find cypress exposed beams, dating back to 1849, that were part of the original D. H. Holmes building.
Breakfast is served daily in the recently remodeled "Tempo" restaurant. For cocktails, light fare, and viewing televised sporting events, The Clock Bar is a favorite among locals and guests. Harbored just off the lobby is Ralph Brennan's Red Fish Grille, one of the best seafood restaurants in New Orleans. And as a final touch, Chateau Bourbon has acquired and curated the unique collection of high quality paintings and sculptures found throughout the hotel.

Robin from Longville, LA had this to say:
"We were returning from a trip to Siesta Keys, FL and decided to stay in our favorite city! This was recommended to us from friends. We loved it. The location was perfect and the manager was willing to work with us when we had to leave a day early because of a Hurricane coming to our southwest Louisiana neighborhood! How wonderful Mrs. Jackson was to help us out!! Great staff and wonderful accommodations. We will stay again."
