Adjacent to the French Quarter and only 3 blocks to Bourbon Street! Where European charm meets New Orleans' easy going free spirit, the French Quarter Courtyard Hotel is one of the city's best kept secrets. Luxurious Swimming Pool !
Welcome to the French Quarter Courtyard Hotel. Sheltered behind antique shutters lies an urban oasis of relaxation on the edge of the French Quarter. Here, European charm meets New Orleans grace and spirit, and echoes of jazz greats merge with the sounds of trickling fountains. The French Quarter Courtyard Hotel is a tourist class hotel offered at a budget price.
One of the city's best-kept-secrets, the French Quater Courtyard Hotel invites you to unwind in a place where trumpeter Wynton Marsalis first picked up his horn and where legends such as Cannonball Adderly once played. The French Quarter Courtyard Hotel's building dates back to 1897 and was originally a private home owned by a New Orleans aristocrat. Later, the building became a jazz club until the building was restored to its present condition in 1995 and opened as a hotel. The hotel just recently reopened under new ownership so renovations are ongoing.
This quaint mansion has been converted into 51 intimate guest rooms, each appointed with four-poster beds, some with original fireplaces, and original antique wood or brick floors. The second floor rooms all have wrought iron balconies. A grotto-like pool and comfortable courtyard provide the perfect setting for unwinding and is the focal point of the hotel. Free coffee is offered daily.
Note: Hotel under new ownership now so many common areas of the hotel and several rooms are still undergoing renovations that will probably last throughout the summer.

A Recent Traveler from had this to say:
"As we approached the hotel, we immediately realized this hotel was in very dangerous area of New Orleans. There were large pieces of broken glass in front of the entrance to the hotel! There were people loitering around the outside of it too!
Yet, as it was night time we went in and asked if we could see the room first. The manager on duty reluctantly gave us the key to preview the actual room. First the hotel was cloudy with smoke. As we walked down a corridor we noted a bar with several people smoking at it. We walked outside into the courtyard where the pool is located and noted several people sitting in a circle. Very adult risque and vagrant! WHAT WE SAW WAS NOT CONDUSIVIE FOR ANY CHILD TO SEE!!!!! We turned to the right to get to the room and the wooden glass panelled front doors to the room were loose! This gave anyone easy access to the room as the door could easily be kicked in, which posed a major security threat! We went back to the manager and explained politely that we did NOT feel safe staying there and had children with us. She proceeded to snap and fuss at us stating," Well, what do you want me to do about it!" Then flippantly snapped, “Well, I"m gonna charge you for one nights stay!" My family then drove throughout New Orleans trying to find a hotel that was not expensive on last minutes notice! We finallly located a hotel with available rooms. This hotel costed almost double of what we already had been in advanced charged for the French Quarter Courtyard Hotel. Otherwise we would have had to drive home which is across two state lines! This severely limited our available funds which severely and negatively altered our plans! I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone!!! I wanted to explain my horrible experience so that they would know how unsafe a location this hotel is located in, how horrible my experience was and that this is not a child friendly hotel and that what is shown on the web site is not what you see when you get to the hotel!"
